                                               Purpose of this educational program:

The Master's program involves professional training of specialists in the research, pedagogical and translation fields of Russian philology to work in foreign countries and the CIS. The educational program is aimed at both fundamental and applied training of qualified and competitive specialists who confidently possess general professional and special competencies.

Among the advantages of this study program are:

  • Russian Master's Program is designed considering the fact that students who are not native speakers of the Russian language, with a level of proficiency in the Russian language not lower than B2, are trained.
  • The concept of the educational process of this program is based on the principle of continuity with bachelor's educational programs implemented for foreign students in the relevant areas. This implies, if necessary, the study of some professional disciplines with the involvement of scientific and educational literature in the native language of the student.
  • The principle of an organic combination of theoretical and applied courses, as well as training on an individual educational trajectory with a choice of disciplines of the variable part of the curriculum make it possible to gain knowledge and skills relevant to the needs of the student.

  • The program combines three of the most popular philological areas: research, pedagogical and translation. Academic disciplines to a certain extent complete the educational programs for training foreign bachelors in the relevant areas.
  • At the same time, the selection of disciplines included in the curriculum is conditioned by the general tasks of training on the basis of both broad and special philological education.
  • The disciplines of the research direction are aimed at the formation of professional competencies of a philologist for the implementation of scientific research in the linguistic and literary fields of Russian philology.
  • The disciplines of the pedagogical direction allow the training of a highly qualified teacher of the Russian language and literature, capable of professional development and implementation of educational programs using modern methods. The disciplines of the translation direction are implemented considering modern achievements of science and practice, based on intercultural communication of training a specialist of the appropriate level.
  •  The program also provides for a sufficient amount of time for undergraduates to conduct research under the scientific supervision of a teacher, students to implement practical projects, and master teamwork skills. Research, teaching, translation, etc. practices are designed to help students master the necessary professional skills and abilities

Upon completion of the master's program, depending on the chosen direction, graduates can engage in research and teaching activities, as well as find application in the fields of translation and intercultural communication.

Graduates can continue their education in postgraduate studies in the relevant specialty. They also can find work in educational institutions of all levels (school, university, advanced training courses) of their native countries (CIS and far abroad); in various government agencies that cooperate with the Russian Federation.
