                                                         Purpose of this educational program:

The program corresponds to the strategic guidelines of the University in the field of Digital Humanities and is aimed at obtaining a new profession "Digital linguist". The program is focused on interdisciplinary comprehensive training of specialists with professional skills in the field of intellectual processing of text information, digital humanities research.

The specialization of the program is focused on the acquisition by students of research and project competencies, such as: planning and conducting independent research in the field of philology and digital humanities; organization of digital educational and research environment; development of online courses; project management; teamwork.

The program is adapted to the modern requirements of science, education and business in the digital environment and is focused on interdisciplinary comprehensive training of specialists who are able to successfully and at the modern level solve research and applied problems in the field of digital Humanities, intelligent processing of text information (Text Mining, at the intersection of philology and computer science) and online pedagogy; continue specialized education; mobile, socially responsible and competitive

Core curriculum

Among the advantages of this study program are:

• Interdisciplinarity: obtaining a new profession “digital philologist", training specialists with professional competencies in the field of technologies of intellectual processing of text information.
• Compliance with Professional standards: 01.004 "Teacher of professional training, vocational education and training"; 06.004 "Specialist in information resources"; 06.019 "Technical writer"; ; integration of academic and practical approach in teaching.
• Online training and distance learning technologies: includes online courses, including author's courses on SFedU platforms (moodle.sfedu.ru , e-learning.sfedu.ru ), involves the formation of competencies in the field of online course.
• development - integration of academic and project approach: practice and internships at the Center for Digital Humanities, UNC RAS, leading companies in the region; participation in scientific projects developed jointly with the HSE (Mirror Laboratories).

• Students get acquainted with new directions in the development of humanities, technologies of automatic natural language processing, learn to process and analyze data using Python and R, create digital texts and better understand the digital world and the digital person; study e-learning technologies and create online courses;
• Students take part in scientific projects of the Center for Digital Humanities Research, which are being developed jointly with the International Laboratory of Language Convergence of the Higher School of Economics, the Laboratory of Philology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the developers of the National Corpus of the Russian Language ; a semantic edition of the works of A. P. Chekhov (the Chekhov Digital project), the corpus of Don dialect texts, the Russian Academic Corpus RLC (the RCT project, the SFEDU subcorpus); have internships and internships in leading companies in the region, participate in dialect expeditions; they take part in the organization and holding of the "Youth School of Federal Universities in Digital Linguistics" within the framework of the All-Russian network project of federal universities. The program provides for interaction with leading Russian schools in the field of Digital Humanities, leading specialists are involved in the teaching process.
