An exhibition of diploma projects was held in Damascus as part of a scientific event organized jointly with the Southern Federal University and Yarmouk University (Jordan), on the basis of the architecture faculty of the local university.
The event is timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Architecture and on the occasion of the anniversary of the University of Damascus.
According to one of the organizers, Candidate of Architecture, Associate professor of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Damascus, Abass Hiba Saad, the exhibition was a great success, and the Russian stands attracted many visitors. By the way, Abass Hiba Saad is a graduate of the Academy of Architecture and Arts of the Southern Federal University, defended her dissertation "Features of the architecture of Damascus during the French Mandate period" in 2022, the scientific supervisor is Candidate of Architecture, Associate Professor A.M. Ivanova-Ilyicheva.
This joint exhibition of final qualifying works by Russian and Syrian graduates of architects is a bright and useful event for scientific cooperation, which was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of SAR Bassam Ibrahim, President of Damascus University Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, Assistant to the President for Scientific Research Maysa Al-Sufi, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Rida Dib, Nikolay Sukhov, head of the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus.
The importance of the event is confirmed by the presence of the Ambassadors of India, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina and Chile.
