The project of the students of the Southern Federal University "Lernium" received a special award "Promising project. PSB Bank's Choice at the Gravity International Award in the field of artificial intelligence and big data.
The project is an AI platform that automatically converts documents and internal materials into ready-made training courses with lessons, assignments and tests.
On May 29, the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Gravity International University Prize, an annual competition in the field of artificial intelligence and big data, took place at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The organizers of the award are the Presidential Academy, Tomsk State University, the Association "University Consortium of Big Data Researchers" and RUDN University. This year, the competition was held for the fourth time.
Among the finalists of the award is the Lernium project, developed by students of the SFedU Institute of Computer Technology and Information Security under the guidance of Tatiana Kalashnikova, an expert in innovation management and technology commercialization. The development is aimed at speeding up the process of creating training courses without losing the quality of educational content.
The project team was formed on the basis of the NeuroFlex student association, whose members have already implemented several joint projects in the field of artificial intelligence, web development and creative industries. The team consists of Vadim Voloshchuk, Arslan Bovaev, Ruslan Pashkovsky, Maria Shusharina, Malik Kankoshev and Daria Movmyga.
Using AI technologies, the system analyzes documents and forms the course structure, including modules, lessons, theoretical materials, practical assignments, and tests. In other words, it is enough for the user to upload internal regulations, methodological recommendations, educational programs or other documents to the platform, after which the system suggests the structure of the future course. This approach makes it possible to reduce the time required to prepare educational content while maintaining expert supervision by the teacher or methodologist.

The idea of the project began to form during the design and educational intensive SfeduNet 11. Initially, the team worked on the case of Center-Invest Bank and presented a prototype solution to experts, business representatives and personnel training specialists. The feedback received helped to rethink the concept of the project: the developers decided to focus not only on generating educational content, but also on solving a broader task — reducing the adaptation time of new employees and improving the effectiveness of corporate training.
In the near future, the developers plan to finalize the product, develop automatic course generation functions based on internal company documents, implement analytics on employee educational trajectories, test the solution with the first corporate customers, and prepare for pilot implementations. The team is developing it as a B2B platform for corporate training, employee adaptation, and analysis of educational outcomes.
"Winning the award was not just an award for us, but an important confirmation of the value of the project. It is important for us that the experts saw the potential of the product and confirmed the relevance of the chosen direction. Such an assessment increases the trust of future partners and motivates the team to continue developing the project. We consider this victory as the next step on the way from an MVP to a full—fledged technological product," said Vadim Voloshchuk, a participant in the project, a graduate student at the SFedU ICTIS.
The Gravity Award unites university projects and research in the field of artificial intelligence and big data. The award "Promising project. The PSB Bank's choice is awarded to developments with high potential for practical application and further development.
