At the lecture, which brought together students and teachers of the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies, Dr. Raul Romero spoke in detail about the peculiarities of Mexican colonial architecture and showed with vivid examples how local craftsmen organically intertwined pre-Hispanic symbols and images into Christian subjects.

The audience learned how the identity of the indigenous peoples of Mexico manifested itself in the elements and decor of the temple architecture.   The topic provoked a lively response and questions about the types and meanings of ornaments, the status of the mentioned historical and architectural monuments.
