The SFedU hosted a series of lectures by the Russian Society Znanie on the heroes and traditions of Russian statehood

The Lecture Hall of the Russian Society "Znanie" continues to operate at the Southern Federal University, an educational platform where leading experts, scientists and public figures meet with students to discuss key issues of history, culture and state development. The project "Knowledge.The lecture hall” is aimed at popularizing reliable knowledge, forming a civic position and strengthening patriotic values among young people.

From May 12 to 18, with the support of the SFedU Coordination Center for the Formation of active citizenship among young people, the prevention of interethnic and interfaith conflicts, countering the ideology of terrorism and the prevention of extremism, a series of lectures was organized within the walls of the SFedU, united by the common theme "The Land of Heroes: the names and destinies of multinational Russia." The students were students of the Institute of History and International Relations, the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication, as well as the Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies.

On May 12, Maxim Vaskov, Professor at the SFedU Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies, Head of the SFedU Center for East Slavic Studies, member of the Expert Council of the Southwestern Department of the Federal Academy of Medical Sciences of Russia, lecturer at the Russian Society "Znanie", addressed the students. The speaker presented to the audience vivid examples of the courage and dedication of representatives of different nations, whose destinies have become symbols of the unity and strength of our country.

On May 13 and 14, lectures on the same topic – "The Land of Heroes: the names and Destinies of multinational Russia" – were conducted by Anton Averyanov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Acting Director of the Institute of History and International Relations of the Southern Federal University. In his speech, he addressed historical figures and events that clearly demonstrate the contribution of different nations to the defense of the Fatherland.

On May 18, as part of the lecture hall at the Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, a lecture on "Traditions of Russian statehood: formation features and essential characteristics" was held. It was read by Alexander Nechushkin, a member of the Public Chamber of Russia from the Rostov region, Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Rostov Region, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor at the RANEPA Law Institute, lecturer at the Russian Society for Knowledge. The lecturer dwelt in detail on the historical stages of the formation of Russian statehood, its value foundations and the continuity of traditions.

The past meetings aroused great interest among the student audience. The participants noted the relevance of the topics raised, the importance of preserving historical memory and awareness of their role in the fate of multinational Russia.
