30 апреля 2026 г.

On April 27, a meeting of the Academic Council was held in the Main Building of the Southern Federal University.

The meeting traditionally began with the solemn awarding of diplomas to university staff who successfully defended their dissertations. The Rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko awarded the diplomas of Doctors of Sciences to Alexander Alekseev — Doctor of Philology, Maxim Krot — Doctor of Historical Sciences, Vadim Mailyan — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Lyudmila Skachkova — Doctor of Economics. Diplomas of candidates of sciences were also awarded to Bashir Abdulvakhidov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Sergey Yemelyantsev, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Karina Zhidel, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Irina Ignatieva, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Maxim Moisa, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Tatiana Nazdracheva, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Anna Pnevskaya, Candidate of Mathematical Sciences. Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, Basel Salmanna — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Natalia Chertkova — Candidate of Biological Sciences.

Then Professor Alexander Soldatov made a presentation on "Key University projects: technologies for accelerated development and transfer of strategically important materials to micro- and low-tonnage production".

He noted that the university has managed to significantly reduce the weight of the equipment and improve its accuracy:

"Previously, the system weighed about 35 kilograms, and its transportation, including to the synchrotron, was not an easy task, but now we have gone through a serious modernization process. We have optimized the design, redesigned key components, and as a result, the latest versions of the equipment already weigh about ten kilograms. At the same time, they have become not only lighter, but also much more accurate. This is fundamentally important for conducting modern research and improving the reproducibility of the results."

According to Alexander Vladimirovich, the SFedU has established a complex of laboratories and competence centers covering microfluidics, technology scaling, engineering and new materials.

"The degree of localization of our technology is already very high today. In fact, almost all key elements, including the development and printing of microfluidic chips, are carried out at the university. Only individual components, such as stepper motors, are purchased externally, but here we are already considering the possibility of a complete transition to domestic solutions. This became possible due to the development of robotics in the country and the expansion of industrial cooperation," said Alexander Soldatov.

Pavel Makhno, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Information Technologies, presented a report "On the priorities of the University's personnel Policy." In his speech, he outlined the key areas of human resource development, including attracting young professionals, developing the professional competencies of teachers and improving the human resource management system.

During the meeting, the election of the director of the D.I. Ivanovsky Academy of Biology and Medicine took place. Kamil Kazeev was elected to the post by secret ballot.

The election of the heads of departments was also held. Candidates for senior positions at the Academy of Psychology and Pedagogy, the Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science, the Chemical and Economic faculties were considered. According to the results of the voting, the relevant appointments were approved.

Sergey Kurbatov, Deputy Chairman of the Attestation Commission, presented decisions on the awarding of academic degrees and the functioning of dissertation councils. In particular, the issues of creating new and changing the composition of existing dissertation councils were considered, as well as decisions on awarding academic degrees to a number of applicants were approved.

In addition, the issues of awarding academic titles were discussed at the meeting. As a result of the voting, candidates for the title of associate professor in various scientific specialties were approved.

As part of additional issues, the Academic Council adopted a number of decisions concerning the educational and administrative activities of the university. In particular, new editions of the admission rules, regulations on educational activities, candidates for the chairmen of state examination commissions, as well as decisions on the establishment of scientific laboratories and support for student scientific associations were approved.
