27 апреля 2026 г.

The event was organized by the Kazakhstan National Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research.

The purpose of the competition is to recognize and encourage the contribution of young scientists and students to the development of science at the international level.

Russian and Russian as a Foreign Language (Pedagogical Education) program students Anastasia Simakova and Anna Lunina, 1st year Master's degree students at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies, took part in the "Best Researcher of the Year" competition.

Anastasia presented the article "Comparative analysis of the "Dubious compliment" in Russian Internet culture: the gender aspect (using the example of comments on the Zen, VKontakte and Telegram platforms)". The study is devoted to identifying the specifics of expressing dubious compliments in an online environment, analyzing their gender orientation and communicative functions. Comments to posts on these platforms were considered as material.

Anna's work is "A metaphorical representation of nature in landscape descriptions of the eco-horror genre (based on the material of Russian, English and Kazakh languages)." The research is aimed at analyzing metaphorical models that form the image of nature as a hostile force in landscape descriptions of the eco-horror genre. As a result, four dominant groups of metaphors were identified: anthropomorphic, sociomorphic, naturomorphic, and artefact.

Following the results of the competition, Anastasia Simakova and Anna Lunina were awarded first degree diplomas, and their articles were published in the international scientific journal Science and Education: New Times.

The scientific supervisors — Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Methods of Teaching at the Moscow Institute of Economics E. A. Pomigueva and Doctor of Philology, Professor O.V. Shiryaeva-Shiring — were awarded letters of appreciation for assisting students in participating in international projects.
