Vladislav Lebedev, a 4th-year student of the Pedagogical Education department at the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication of the Southern Federal University, performed brilliantly at the German Language Olympiad.
Vladislava Lebedeva won a Diploma of the III degree at the International German Language Olympiad "Deutsch ohne Grenzen"/"German without Borders".
The Olympiad was held as part of the International professionally-oriented marathon "Week of German Language and Culture – 2026" at the Faculty of German of the Belarusian State University (Minsk). The organizers aimed to stimulate the in-depth study of the German language, the disclosure of language talents and creative initiative. University students who study German as a foreign language and speak it at least B1/B2 were invited to participate.
The competition, which took place from March 27 to April 10, included two stages. According to the results of the written tour, 13 best participants were selected from more than 60 participants from Russia (Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Biysk, Khabarovsk, Arkhangelsk), Uzbekistan (Samarkand) and Belarus, who passed the oral tour, including Vladislava Lebedeva. Here, the participants had to demonstrate their oral speaking skills by recording and editing a video on the theme "Geprägt von Frauen — meine Seele, mein Schicksal, mein Land"/"Under the sign of women — my soul, my destiny, my country", in which they had to tell "foreign students" about their hometown and conduct a tour of iconic places associated with the names of certain women. The content, logic and structure of the presentation, expressiveness of speech, grammatical correctness and pronunciation, tempo of speech, as well as a creative approach to the task and the quality of the video were evaluated. The key factor, however, was fluency in the language.

Vladislava successfully completed the task by presenting a creative video. In her video, Vladislava spoke fascinatingly about the women's pages of history and the influence of outstanding women on the culture, life and architecture of her hometown, Rostov—on-Don. The originality of the presentation and the deep content of the video were highly appreciated by the jury.
