The VI International Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists has successfully completed its work at SFedU

On April 22, the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists "Language and Translation in the Context of Intercultural Communication" was held at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies within the framework of the SFedU "Science Week 2026": current issues and modern aspects".

The conference once again confirmed the status of an important international platform for scientific dialogue, bringing together representatives from 9 countries: Azerbaijan, Argentina, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Syria and Ecuador. Students, postgraduates and young scientists from more than 40 leading Russian and foreign universities presented their reports, including Moscow State University, Rudn University, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow State University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, KFU, BFU, Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages (Belarus), Hubei Polytechnic University (China), etc.

Pavel Makhno, Vice–rector for Educational Activities and Information Technologies at SFedU, Natalia Karpovskaya, Director of the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies, as well as Anna Motozhanets and Zinaida Rejuk, heads of the Institute's graduate departments, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

The conference began with a plenary session, during which two presentations were made: Marina Lyasheva, Associate Professor at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies, addressed the topic of the transformation of news texts in social networks; Anna Roy-Ignatenko, lecturer at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies, presented the report "Metaphor in the field of professional communication: a special language of architecture", prepared in collaboration with Natalia Karpovskaya, Associate Professor at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies.

Further work continued in the framework of 12 thematic sections covering a wide range of areas: from practical aspects of translation to linguoculturology, cognitive science and innovative methods of teaching foreign languages, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies. The meeting of one of the sections was held in English.

Traditionally, the XXVI International Academic Internet Readings "Philology, Intercultural Communication and Translation in the 21st Century" were held at the conference venues. Foreign researchers Bakhyt Galiyeva (L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan) and Marina Berry (University of Buenos Aires, Argentina) delivered lectures as invited experts.

 

At the end of the XXVI International Academic Internet Readings, a solemn ceremony was held to summarize the results of the conference, at which the winners and prize-winners of the breakout sessions were announced. In her closing remarks, the director of the Institute, N.V. Karpovskaya, noted the high level of training of the participants and the relevance of the presented research.
