On March 22, a chess tournament was held at the SEC Southern Meridian as part of the SFedU Student Spartakiad - 2026.
The tournament brought together chess players from various university departments, confirming the continued popularity of intellectual sports at the university. The participants competed in individual tournaments, demonstrating deep strategic calculation, tactical flexibility and high concentration. We would like to thank all the players for the exciting fight and the will to win. As a result, the seats were distributed as follows.
Women's competition:
I place - Ekaterina Donchenko (Academy of Biology and Medicine);
II place - Alexandra Shamitko (Institute of Earth Science);
III place - Sophia Senchenko (Academy of Physical Culture and Sport).
Men's competition:
I place - Ilya Sinko (Institute of Earth Science);
II place - Alexander Egorov (Faculty of Economics);
III place - Tigran Petrosyan (Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science).
The Academy of Physical Culture and Sport Sports Development Department together with activists of the SFedU Student Sports Club acted as organizers.
