On November 13, a lecture by Maria Alessandra Ragusa, Professor at the University of Catania, Italy, was held as part of the regular scientific seminar of the Russian National Research Center of the Southern Federal University. The seminar was led by Professors A.N. Karapetyants and V.V. Kravchenko.
Maria Alessandra Ragusa is a PhD candidate, full Professor at the Department of Mathematical Analysis at the University of Catania, Italy, one of the top scientists in Italy, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Function Spaces, and one of the World's Top 2% Scientists (an annual ranking of the world's most cited scientists compiled by Stanford University (USA) and Elsevier Publishing House). She has more than 220 scientific publications, PhD students and participation in several world scientific communities (such as "Pia.ce.ri." (Piano di Incentivi per la Ricerca), "ENIGMA" (Egocentric Navigator for Industrial Guidance, Monitoring and Prevention), etc.) and others. Her research interests include areas such as analysis, operator theory, differential equations, and more.
On November 13, Professor Ragusa gave a lecture on functional and analytical methods for solving partial differential equations. The correctness of formulation, existence and regularity of solutions of partial differential equations and systems of such equations were considered. Professor Ragusa paid special attention to the action of integral operators and their application to analyze the regularity of solutions of elliptic, parabolic and ultraparabolic second-order equations with discontinuous coefficients.
The seminar "Seminar on Analysis, Differential Equations and Mathematical Physics" was attended by more than forty mathematicians - specialists from the world's leading scientific and educational centers in Russia and other countries, including graduate students and students of the SFedU Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science and young scientists.
Online scientific seminar of the Regional Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center (https://rmc.sfedu.ru /) it is held regularly every two weeks, announcements of new seminars and videos of previous seminars are available on the website http://msrn.sfedu.ru/sl . The seminar features leading researchers from around the world whose research interests are related to analysis, differential equations, and mathematical physics. The scientific seminar of the mathematical center is open, everyone can take part in it.
