On March 7, the SFedU-2025 Student Spring Festival "In the Rhythm of Time" opened in the Rostov-on-Don Regional House of Folk Art. The first concert was the performance of the Institute of History and International Relations "Strict Regime Holidays".
The Russian comedy drama has found a new interpretation. By the will of fate, two stumbled people turned out to be counselors at a pioneer camp. The story is about how a former underworld boss and a policeman who has been unjustly imprisoned must "get on the right path."
It turns out that there are still pioneers in modern times! From the universe of Geo-Peaks and Blind Man's Buff, the main characters find themselves in a place where "Fire Up, Blue Nights" is still playing.
On the stage of ODNT, SFedU Institute of History and International Relations presented musical numbers, a dynamic video genre of prison escape and dancing to the audience in his performance. The humor of the SFedU student historians reinterprets the original source in a modern way. Now criminals are Internet scammers, and Koltsov and Sumarokov are being rescued from prison by a criminal "Alice" navigator with an unusual jargon.
"This song is, of course, about freedom. It's about understanding what this word means to everyone. The main thing is freedom in small things. Hanamichi in the plot of spring is freedom, the road of flowers, in Japanese," said Evgeny Popov, the performer of the main role.
Hanamichi is a narrow platform in the Japanese Kabuki Theater, an extension of the stage running through the stalls. Through hanamichi, the actors enter and leave the stage. The path to freedom is real and personal in the plot of spring. And freedom is not only an escape from prison, it is a search for new landmarks and meanings, a reassessment of one's past.
"Probably the main thing that can be said about the "Strict Regime Holidays" student spring is that people can change. Despite the prevailing stereotype, a person is still able to look at the world from a different angle and turn his life 180 degrees," summarizes Evgeny.
We will not reveal all the "trump cards" of the adventures of the main characters. Will they be able to avoid falling into the hands of the security forces, will they be able to become real teachers and keep their secret?
