On December 6-7, the XXII All-Russian Scientific and Practical Student Conference with international participation "Language, Literature and Culture of Iberoamerica" was held at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies of the SFedU.
According to the tradition of recent years, the conference was held in a hybrid format. The working languages of the conference are Spanish and Russian.
Pavel Makhno, SFedU Vice Rector for Education and Information Technology, wished the conference participants success and productive work. He noted that the conference has been held for twenty-two years, contributing to the growth of mutual understanding and strengthening ties between peoples. Natalia Karpovskaya, the Rector's Plenipotentiary representative in the countries of the Ibero-American area, Director of the SFedU IMDO, congratulated all those present on the start of the conference, stressing that among the main goals of this event: the development of young science and the strengthening of academic and scientific contacts both between Russian universities and with foreign partners. At the same time, the head of the Ibero-American branch of MIMDO M.E. In her welcoming speech, Semikova drew attention to the fact that such events are designed to promote the development of the scientific potential of young researchers who are at the beginning of new discoveries.
The main areas of work of the conference were: current issues of modern research in the field of the Spanish language; literature and culture of Spanish-speaking countries; issues of theory and practice of translation; modern technologies in the process of teaching Spanish, etc.
The conference participants were greatly interested in the reports delivered at the plenary session by PhD student of the MIMDO D.N. Zinovieva and a young lecturer at the Department of Ibero-American Studies in Language, Translation and Intercultural Communication of the MIMDO A.E. Protsenko.
More than 200 students and young scientists from Russia, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Spain, and South Korea participated in the event. At the breakout sessions, more than 130 speakers from 17 Russian and foreign universities presented their reports, among them: MGIMO, MSU, MGLU, MPSU, MGPU, RUDN University, MVSSHEN, MAI, PSU, VSU, LGPU, RINH, DGTU, Gyeongsang National University (South Korea), etc. The students of the SFU Faculty of Law also took an active part in the conference, who not only presented their reports, but also spoke during the discussions.
According to tradition, the XX International Academic Internet Readings "Philology, Intercultural Communication and Translation in the 21st Century" were organized at the conference site as part of the Virtual University's "World Without Borders" project. Professor Rafael del Moral Aguilera (Spain) delivered a lecture on linguistic processes taking place in the modern world. Professor Raul Urbina Fonturbel (Spain) read about multimodal aspects of advertising; Contreras Asturias Celia, Director of the School for International Students at the University of Veracruz (Mexico), delivered a lecture on the formation of cultural competence of an interpreter (co-authored with Cristina Victoria Kleinert, Professor at the University of Veracruz).
