The festival "Your turn, freshman - 2024" was held at the Student Club for the 14th time. This creative event helps young people to test themselves in different types of art, overcome internal barriers and realize personal growth.

The festival was held in two stages: On October 12, the student teams of the Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Equipment Engineering and Institute of Management in Economic, Ecological and Social Systems presented the productions "Kuzya the Housekeeper" and "In Search of Nemo", and on October 19, Institute of Radio Engineering Systems and Control and Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security showed the stage programs "Alice in the Office of Miracles" and "Hansel and Gretel", based on famous films and animated films.

The gala concert was the final event of the festival. At it, young actors from four institutes of the Academy for Engineering and Technology of the Southern Federal University presented the best fragments from their concert programs. Each theatrical, musical, and choreographic number evoked a flurry of emotions and applause from the guests of the evening.

After the end of the concert program, representatives of the directorates of four institutes of the Academy  took the stage, who thanked the guys for the positive emotions, talented play and relevance of the topics raised.

The culmination of the event was the announcement by the head of the Student Club, Alexander Ashikhmin, of the results of the festival in separate nominations and the team competition. Diplomas of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees were awarded to: music, dance, theater, set design, original genre, videography, and entertainer.

In the team competition, the places were distributed as follows:

The 1st place was won by the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security team,

The 2nd place belongs to the Institute of Radio Engineering Systems and Control team,

The 3rd place was shared by the Institute of Management in Economic, Ecological and Social Systems and Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Equipment Engineering teams.

This festival was a test not only for 100 first-year students who were able to go through the difficult path of debutants in 55 days, but also for the jury members.

"All the bands performed great, but most of all I remember Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security. The guys used their creative resources to the maximum.

I would advise you to avoid templates in choosing festival productions, because from year to year, directors choose either a famous cartoon or a movie for concerts. It would be more advantageous to bring something new and unusual.

The most important thing I want to wish the guys is to enjoy the creative process and communicate with each other," said Dmitry Alferov, a graduate of Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Equipment Engineering, a member of the jury in the direction of "Original genre".

Also, according to tradition, the previous holders of the titles "Miss and Mr. Freshman" handed over their awards to the newcomers. This year's winners were Diana Lushkina (Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security) and Kirill Filonenko (Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Equipment Engineering).
