Southern Federal University was selected as one of 40 universities in Russia that became part of the Green League project.  When choosing universities, the existing developments and achievements in the field of eco-activism, as well as the desire of students, were evaluated.

"The Green League unites and supports student eco-clubs, and also serves as a platform for education, career guidance, project development and internships in specialized organizations. Already this year, the university will have the opportunity to participate and organize such actions as the collection of waste paper "Million to the Motherland" and the Clean-up day "Clean up after yourself," said Dmitry Lapygin, chairman of the EcoYFU association.
