The main venue for the celebration was the SFedU Glade near the Faculty of Physics. An interactive exhibition of student associations worked there during the day. On different stages of the glade, freshmen had the opportunity to learn about various areas of the university's activities: "Education and Science", "Society", "Sport", "Culture".

SFedU Rector Inna Shevchenko emphasized that it is not easy to enter the Southern Federal University, and it is even more difficult to study there. The rector solemnly handed over the symbolic grade book and student ID to the freshmen with the best USE scores.

Among those who entered SFedU there are winners of federal and regional Olympiads. Three such first-year students - a bachelor, a specialist and a master - were presented with student cards by the guest of honor of the ceremony, the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev.

Solemn events on this day were also held in the Taganrog campus of SFedU. The first document in university life was received by newly minted students of the Institute of Radio Engineering Systems and Control, the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security, the Institute of Nanotechnologies, Electronics and Equipment Engineering, the Institute of Management in Economic, Ecological and Social Systems and College of Applied Professional Education. Excursions to graduating departments and a concert in the Student Club were organized for them.

A solemn event dedicated to the Day of Knowledge was also organized by the SFedU branch in Gelendzhik for its first-year students.

The first-year students got acquainted with the teaching staff of the branch and curators of academic groups. The bell, symbolizing the first bell, was relayed to the first-year students. The graduates of the branch congratulated the first-year students on the beginning of a new stage in their lives. Senior students shared their experiences and successes in student life, and also talked about the difficult life of a student playing the guitar. And for the first-year students there were individual gifts - balloons, as a symbol of today's holiday, and in each of them an individual wish from the senior students.
