President of Southern Federal University, Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities of the South of Russia Marina Borovskaya, noted the dynamic development of cooperation between universities and scientific organizations of the South of Russia and the Republic of Belarus, the results of which, in particular, over the past five years have been reflected in 46 joint publications only at Southern Federal University, four major research projects are being implemented at the moment, two more large-scale interdisciplinary projects are being implemented within the framework of "living" research labs - this is a "Continuous model of pedagogic education" and "Ecosystems in the space of the new economy". She also stressed the importance of functioning and supporting the activities of research platforms that include such "living labs".

According to Marina Borovskaya, effective and fruitful contacts between researchers of the two states can and should be developed.

As a result of the work of the section, recommendations were adopted aimed at further development of Russian and Belarusian scientific and technical cooperation in the field of science and education, including digital technologies.

The section was moderated by the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova and the Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development Viktor Liskovich.

The event was attended by senators of the Russian Federation, members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Director of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Afontsev, Rector of the North Caucasus Federal University Dmitry Bespalov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Alexander Voronov, etc.
