Southern Federal University ranked 531-540 in the QS World University Rankings. Compared to last year, SFedU rose by 60 lines — in the rating-2021, it occupied 591-600 places.
The greatest growth of the university was noted in terms of academic reputation, calculated on the basis of a global survey of representatives of universities around the world. Compared to last year, SFedU has significantly increased the number of foreign students, whose share in SFedU has doubled over the past few years.
The increase in the indicators of publication activity and academic reputation was achieved due to the increase in the performance of groups in the priority areas of research of the Southern Federal University, including soil management, new materials, including for new energy, intelligent control systems, navigation and communication for robotics, and much more.
A total of 1,300 universities were included in the 2022 ranking, of which 145 were not previously included in it. Among Russian universities, 48 universities were evaluated, 16 of which were included in the rating for the first time.
Traditionally, the QS international rating evaluates educational institutions according to six criteria: academic reputation (40% of the total score), faculty-to-student ratio (20%), citation index (20%), reputation among employers (10%), share of foreign students (5%), and share of foreign teachers (5%).
The expert assessment is based on the results of surveys of representatives of the academic and business communities. Data on the ratio of teachers and students, the number of scientific publications, citation indexes, the share of doctors of science in the university staff, the number of foreign teachers and foreign students are also taken into account.
MIA "Russia Today" held a video bridge Moscow-St. Petersburg-Tomsk-Vladivostok, dedicated to the official presentation of the Russian-language version of the world ranking "QS World University Rankings 2021/2022" ("Rating of the best universities in the world 2021/2022").
