Before the meeting, the Interim Rector Inna Shevchenko congratulated SFedU football team with reaching the final of the UEFA Regions Cup. 

At the end of October, a preliminary round of the UEFA Regions Cup 2018/19 finished in Northern Ireland. Russian players won it and got a ticket to a final round of the tournament. The final round of the UEFA Regions Cup will be held on the pitch of one of the participating teams in June 2019.
