Days of Azerbaijani Culture opened in SFedU

On March 16, the Southern Federal University officially opened the Days of Azerbaijani Culture, which are held within the framework of the large-scale project "The Ethnocultural Code of the Southern Federal University".

The Southern Federal University together with the Rostov Regional public organization "Azerbaijan National and Cultural Autonomy" prepared a bright and interesting event, including an exhibition of objects of Azerbaijani folk art and Azerbaijani folk culture, a performance by national creative teams, as well as a musical and literary installation dedicated to the work of Nizami Ganjavi performed by students of SFedU, a scientific and practical conference with the participation of students of SFedU and universities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and more.

The event was attended by the Rector of the SFedU Inna Shevchenko, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Gurba, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Anna Dmitrieva, Deputy Head of the Rostov-on-Don Administration for Social Affairs Elena Kozhukhova, Chairman of the Rostov Regional Azerbaijan National-Cultural Autonomy Vagif Mustafayev, Mufti, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Rostov Region Muhammad Bikmaev, Rector of the Southern University (IMBL) Imran Akperov and other honorary guests.

The Rector of SFedU Inna Shevchenko in her welcoming speech noted that the "Ethno-Cultural Code of SFedU" is gaining momentum, within the framework of the project this is the third event dedicated to the nationalities living on the Don.

According to the chairman of the Rostov Regional Azerbaijan National-Cultural Autonomy Vagif Mustafayev, the Days of Azerbaijani culture are held at this time for a reason.

Vladimir Gurba, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District, stressed that cultural traditions and education are inextricably linked, and play a significant role in the formation of public multinational consciousness.

The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Anna Dmitrieva presented a welcome address from the government of the Rostov region to the Rector of the SFedU Inna Shevchenko and thanked for the development of friendly and partnership relations.

Rostov-on-Don's deputy head of the Administration for Social Affairs Elena Kozhukhova, said that Rostov-on-Don is a multinational city, and for many decades, a lot of work has been done here with all the national cultural autonomies that live in the Rostov region.

Also, within the framework of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed jointly with the Rostov regional public organization "Azerbaijan National and Cultural Autonomy".

The performances of the honored guests were diluted by the creative performances of Azerbaijani performers, including the performance of the Nargiz dance group, the famous Don tenor Ramin Azimoff.

The musical and literary installation was attended by eight students from three Rostov universities: SFedU, RostSMU and IMBL. They performed Nizami's poetic works about love, female beauty, friendship, and loyalty in five languages: Russian, Farsi, French, Azerbaijani, and English.

Partners in the project implementation are the Rostov regional public organization "Azerbaijan National and Cultural Autonomy", the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Rostov Region, state and municipal authorities, Cossack, creative, national-cultural and youth associations of the Rostov region, educational organizations of the region, Russia and foreign countries.
