International experts highly assessed the work of SFedU researchers

03.08.2020

The extended scientific analysis of the geological heritage in the Luxor (famous tourist city) surroundings, where the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes was located thousands of years ago, has been highly assessed by international experts

Dmitry Ruban, an associate professor at the Higher School of Business of SFedU, together with a bachelor graduate (2019) Olesya Bobrysheva, as well as colleagues from Cherepovets State University, Benha University (Egypt) and the Egyptian Environmental Protection Agency, has conduced an assessment of the geological heritage in the Luxor surroundings.

The research has identified the strengths and weaknesses of the travel industry in Egypt as well as justified the need for the development of geotourism in the Luxor surroundings.

The materials presented in the research paper provide an opportunity for the practical implementation of the tourism potential development strategy at the municipal and regional levels. They are quite applicable in Russia (including the Rostov region), where objects of archaeological and geological heritage are adjacent to one another.

The scientific paper with the results of the assessment of the geological heritage of the Luxor surroundings was published in the international scientific journal Arabian Journal of Geosciences (Springer publishing house).

The originality report of the Scopus abstract and citation database indicated 96.4% of the unique content in the research.

“According to the SciVal platform, SFedU takes leading research positions in the field of geotourism, despite the large number of scientific work carried out by scientists from different countries,” noted Dmitry Ruban.
