5.9.8. Theoretical, Applied and Comparative Linguistics

Program Overview:

Training of highly qualified personnel of the highest qualification in the field of theory and history of the Russian language, capable of innovative activities in the field of science and education, in the development of personal and professional qualities among graduate students, ready to carry out significant research work contributing to social and cultural progress.

The postgraduate educational program determines the planned results of its development - the results of scientific (research) activities, the results of mastering disciplines (modules), the results of practical training. As a result of mastering the program, the graduate must have the following competencies:

  • The ability to critically analyze and evaluate modern scientific achievements, generate new ideas in solving research and practical problems, including in interdisciplinary fields.
  • The ability to design and carry out comprehensive research, including interdisciplinary, based on a holistic systematic scientific worldview using knowledge in the field of history and philosophy of science.
  • Willingness to participate in the work of Russian and international research teams in solving scientific and scientific-educational tasks.
  • Willingness to use modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages.
  • Readiness to teach in the main educational programs of higher education.
  • Possession of research skills, methods and techniques of modern linguistics and literary studies (the ability to see and establish the relevance of the problem, demonstrate critical thinking, choose effective methodology and research methods; knowledge of the latest scientific achievements in the field of philological science, as well as related fields of scientific research);
  • The ability to effectively use the research environment and manage research (understanding the context and specifics of scientific research in the field of linguistics and literary studies; effective use of various resources and technologies for searching scientific information; proficiency in qualified analysis, commenting, abstracting and summarizing the results of scientific sources, the ability to adequately assess the information received; compliance with ethical standards when using scientific sources; optimal combination of current and priority activities; mastery of project management skills in setting research goals and objectives);
  • The ability to create new (including fundamental) knowledge in the field of linguistics and literary studies (mastery of the skills of independent research of the language system and the basic laws of the functioning of folklore and literature in synchronic and diachronic aspects; the study of oral, written and virtual communication with the presentation of reasoned conclusions);
  • The ability to build predictive scenarios and models for the development of communicative and socio-cultural situations;
  • Knowledge of the skills of organizing and conducting training sessions and practices, seminars, scientific discussions and conferences (including within the framework of higher school activities).
