Abstract of the educational program for the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in Postgraduate studies of the scientific specialty

1.6.7 Engineering geology, permafrost and soil science

1. Languages of education: Russian, English (optional)

2. Campus: Rostov-on-Don, Institute of Earth Sciences

Program Overview:

Training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel capable of carrying out research and teaching activities based on deep fundamental and applied knowledge in the field of Earth and environmental sciences.

The program is aimed at training highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel engaged in research activities in the field of engineering geology, permafrost and soil science, as well as teaching in educational institutions of secondary and higher education. The subject-thematic content of the program provides the acquisition of competencies in the field of generating and solving complex research and practical tasks (including interdisciplinary), knowledge of modern methodology of theoretical and experimental research in the field of Earth sciences (including those acquired through participation in high-level scientific research and training on the basis of research centers equipped with modern equipment), the ability to develop comprehensive methodological support for the taught academic disciplines.

The objects of the graduate's professional activity are: Earth, composition, structure of soils as multicomponent systems, their composition, condition, properties, structure; correlation between properties, classification indicators of soil properties; physico-chemical phenomena and processes in the interaction of soil components; regional geological, zonal and technogenic factors of formation of engineering-geological and geocryological conditions and natural and technical systems; assessment and forecast of changes in engineering-geological and theocryological conditions of mineral deposits, urbanized and rural areas, industrial, civil, energy and other types of construction; education and public awareness.

The postgraduate educational program determines the planned results of its development - the results of scientific (research) activities, the results of mastering disciplines (modules), the results of practical training. As a result of mastering the program, the graduate must have the following competencies:

- The ability to critically analyze and evaluate modern scientific achievements, generate new ideas in solving research and practical problems, including in interdisciplinary fields.

- The ability to design and carry out comprehensive research, including interdisciplinary, based on a holistic systematic scientific worldview using knowledge in the field of history and philosophy of science.

- Willingness to participate in the work of Russian and international research teams in solving scientific and scientific-educational tasks.

- Willingness to use modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages.

- Readiness to teach in the main educational programs of higher education.
