Friendship through knowledge: SFedU and the Taishan Institute held an intensive program for future managers

18 августа 2026 г.

From July 27 to August 7, the delegation from Southern Federal University worked at the Taishan Polytechnic Institute (Taian, China) as part of a joint summer school for academic mobility.

The event was not just another exchange, but a real bridge between the educational systems of the two countries and an important stage in strengthening the Russian‑Chinese partnership.

The delegation included students and faculty members from the Faculty of Management at Southern Federal University. The school’s program was based on a harmonious combination of fundamental lectures and a real‑life immersion in actual Chinese business. In the classrooms of Taishan Polytechnic Institute, participants examined modern management models, the digital transformation of enterprises, and the specifics of conducting international trade in the Asia‑Pacific region. Special emphasis was placed on case studies of major Chinese corporations and their strategies for entering global markets.

However, theory would remain theory without practice. The delegation visited the Haier innovation park in Qingdao, where future managers saw advanced production lines, a lean manufacturing system, and the unique “ren-denghe” philosophy (people are the value). The second highlight was the famous Tsingtao brewery: the students traced the entire technological chain and analyzed the marketing techniques that made this brand recognizable worldwide. Direct communication with Chinese colleagues, exchange of experience, and analysis of work‑related situations — all of this made it possible to consolidate knowledge instantly.

The cultural part of the program turned out to be no less eventful. Masterclasses in calligraphy, the ancient art of Taishan woodblock printing, a tea ceremony, a tour of the Jade Carving Center and the “Taishan Shuyuan” library — every day revealed a new facet of Chinese tradition. And the ascent of the sacred Mount Tai became a symbolic finale, giving participants the opportunity to experience how millennia‑old culture seamlessly integrates into the modern educational and business environment.

At the closing ceremony, the head of the delegation, Ekaterina Bozhenko, emphasized:

“Our students are sincerely impressed by the hospitality of the Chinese side and the depth of the program — both academic and practical. This experience not only broadened their professional horizons but also laid a solid foundation for long‑term friendship between our universities.”

The summer school in Taian is a vivid example of effective international cooperation, where knowledge, culture, and human contacts come together to create a single value. The parties have already confirmed their intention to continue academic exchanges and launch new joint projects.
