The D.I. Ivanovsky Academy of Biology and Medicine of the Southern Federal University, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, has established the Center for Soil Bioengineering Engineering, a specialized unit focused on the transfer of advanced soil technologies to the real sector of the economy.
The new center is designed to become a link between fundamental science and industry, ensuring the implementation of scientific developments in agro-industrial practice. The main task of the center is the development and implementation of engineering solutions in the field of soil fertility restoration, creation of artificial soil systems with specified properties and digital monitoring of soil conditions.
The Soil Bioengineering Engineering Development Center is one of the flagship projects of the Southern Federal University in the field of technological leadership. Among the priorities is the creation of the world's first artificial fertile soil technology, Artificial Chernozem, as well as the development of smart fertilizers, strategic yield forecasting systems and robotic agricultural laboratories.

The Center is headed by Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Assessment at SFedU Tatiana Minkina.
"The creation of the Soil Bioengineering Engineering Research Center is a natural stage in the development of our scientific school in the field of soil science and biotechnology. We have gone from basic research to ready-made technological solutions that can be scaled and implemented in the agro-industrial complex. Now our task is to make these technologies available to businesses and the agricultural sector," comments Tatiana Mikhailovna.

The scientific and technological base of the new center is impressive: it is equipped with modern analytical equipment, including gas chromatographs, X-ray diffractometers and other high-precision analytical instruments, which will allow in the future to provide contractual services to universities, scientific organizations and enterprises of the Southern Federal District and other regions of Russia.
The developments of the Soil Bioengineering Engineering Research Center are aimed at solving urgent problems of food security and import substitution in the agricultural sector, which fully corresponds to the priorities set out in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The opening of the Soil Bioengineering Engineering Research Center is another step by the Southern Federal University towards strengthening its status as the country's leading scientific and technological center. SFedU consistently proves that fundamental science and the real sector of the economy can and should work together, giving rise to innovations that change approaches to agriculture and take care of the future of our lands. SFedU remains a reliable bridge between knowledge and practice, continuing to create technologies capable of ensuring Russia's food security for decades to come.
