The School's mission is to familiarize participants with the characteristic ecosystems of high latitudes, ways to protect and preserve biodiversity, discuss the problems of the Arctic region and the role of man in the transformation of the biosphere in the past, present and future.

Alina Badmayeva and Anastasia Lysakova, students of the D.I. Ivanovsky Academy of Biology and Medicine, were selected from the Southern Federal University on a competitive basis.

The participants listened to lectures on Kenozerye landscapes, nature conservation and rational use of natural resources, and sustainable tourism. A guided tour of the academic buildings and the museum was also organized for students, as well as a master class on polygraph from Associate Professor, PhD Igor Chub. In addition, the students listened to lectures by Professor Juetse Yang from China, who spoke about the restoration of alpine ecosystems on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

After graduation, the project work was carried out. Students from different universities as part of teams developed a project to improve the ecological trail, made a route map and thought out how to make it more convenient and interesting for visitors.
