SFedU soil scientists took an active part in the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Fundamental and applied aspects of geology, geophysics and geoecology using modern information technologies"

The conference was held in a mixed format on May 15-19 in Maykop.

The conference was organized by the Maikop State Technological University together with the Institute of Ecology of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia, with the support of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics named after A.M. Obukhov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Consortium "Sustainable Development" on the basis of the Moscow University named after S.Yu. Witte, with the participation of the Department for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the Republic of Adygea and the Department of Geology and Licensing for the Republic of Adygea of the Department for Subsoil Use in the Southern Federal District.

The conference discussed the problems of geoecology, geophysics and geology, earth physics, sea physics, atmospheric physics, the consequences of global and regional climate change, methods of mathematical modeling, technologies of rational nature management, monitoring and environmental protection, biological methods of environmental quality control, utilization and recycling of industrial and household waste, physical and chemicalchemical and biological methods of wastewater treatment, atmospheric composition, diagnostics and modeling of photochemical and radiation processes.

Representatives of the D.I. Academy of Biology and Biotechnology named after D.I. Ivanovsky of the  Southern Federal University Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Assessment Tatiana Minkina, leading researcher of the laboratory "Soil Health" and the laboratory "Agrobiotechnologies to improve soil fertility and quality of agricultural products" Svetlana Sushkova, leading researcher Vishnu Rajput, graduate student of the Department of Soil Science and Land Assessment Tamara Dudnikova, made presentations at the plenary sessions of the conference and talked about methods of cleaning soils from heavy metal pollution, about technologies of soil conservation and improvement of soil fertility. Preya Rajput, a junior researcher at the International Institute of Intelligent Materials, also took part in the conference with a report on water purification using microfluidics.
