SFedU takes pride in the acheivements of its alumni. There are lots of famous public and political figures, writers, journalists, scientists, and businessmen among SFedU alumni.
SFedU Alumni Association is a union of those who graduated from leading universities that SFedU is a legal successor to: Rostov State University tracing back to 1915; Rostov State Pedagogical University formed in 1930; Taganrog State Radio Engineering University founded in 1952; and Rostov State Academy of Architecture and Art formed in 1988.
SFedU administration and staff maintain contacts with SFedU alumni, do their best to support them and are proud of the alumnis achievements. It has become a tradition to arange Alumni Reunions and Alumni Days both in Russia and abroad.

- Igor Kalyaev - famous IT researcher, Honorary Doctor at Zhejiang University (China), Head of the SFedU Department of Intellectual and Multiprocessor Systems
- Aleksandr Garnovskiy - famous chemist, full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, who has a high citation index
- Dmitriy Dibrov - famous journalist, TV presenter, musician, member of the Russian TV Academy
