On November 2-3, the 4th meeting of the Turkish-Russian Public Forum was held in Turkey.
Interim rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko took part in the meeting. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation members (the working groups on education and cooperation in science and technology) were also the participants.
The Russian Federation is the coordinator of the BSEC Working Group on cooperation in science and technology until July 2020, as well as the coordinator of the BSEC Working Group on cooperation in education until December 2019. Along with the Russian Federation, Turkey is at the forefront of discussing the expanding cooperation in science and education.
The Southern Federal University is an expert organization in the BSEC Region. Representatives of the Southern Federal University are actively involved in coordinating the activities of the Working Group on Education and the BSEC Working Group on cooperation in science and technology.
The Southern Federal University has been working closely with scientific and educational organizations in Turkey: Selcuk University, Middle East Technical University, Akdeniz University, Ondokuz Mayıs University, Yeditepe University, and Istanbul University.
The new technologies in education, the interaction of science and business, increasing the academic mobility of students and scientists, the specifics of the digital and green economy in the development of the region, creating common databases, expanding the exchange of experience and best practices in education and science and the challenges of achieving the goals of sustainable development in the Black Sea region were discussed.
