SFedU Students Developed a Virtual Boxing Trainer

28.02.2018

Students of the Institute of Advanced Technologies created a virtual boxing coach. The application works due to VR-technologies and can become a personal boxing coach for anyone.

The virtual coach will teach you how to hold your hands properly, strike your opponent and evade his attacks. In addition, the system is able to correctly choose the strategy of conducting a duel based on the physical characteristics of the athlete.
Visually, technical equipment looks simple: a helmet is mounted on the head, and joysticks are attached to both hands. As soon as the equipment is turned on, the program immediately determines the location of the athlete and simulates before him the image of the opponent with whom the fight is done. It is noteworthy that the system responds very accurately to the movements of the player and to carrying out attacks against them. As noted by the developers, the "coach" should become available for everyone who wants to learn to box, but for one reason or another can not attend the section or hire a personal trainer.
