Scientists of Southern Federal University have discovered a similarity between the structures of some viral shells and crystals. Having received exhaustive ideas about the structure of the shell and mechanisms of self-assembly of the virus, which directly affect its ability to infect the host cell; it will be possible to prevent the process of human infection at the earliest stages. For example, by designing more effective, fundamentally new antiviral agents, creating nanocontainers for the targeted drug delivery.
