Mother Language Day at SFedU

Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication became a venue for a traditional festival devoted to Mother Language Day on February 21.

Professor Ludmila Tabachenko gave a talk on history of the holiday, languages affinity on the planet, and also did a quiz Do we know Russian?

About 20 SFedU students that study in different departments and foundation course did presentations of their languages guided by the lecturers from the department Russian for foreigners. Among the lecturers who supported and assisted our students were Marina Tikhtievskaya, Olga Frolova,  Inna Kovtunenko. Among the organizers are Irina Litvinova, Elena Grigoryan, Maria Karpun, Anush Akopyan, Elena Sheyko.

Our students represented Indonesian, Vietnamese, Turkmenian, Uzbek, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese and Croatian. The audience enjoed songs in different languages and national Armenian and Georgian dances.

This festival is a great example of tolerance, mutual understanding, dialogue and solidarity between students of different nations.
