Professional Development for German Language Teachers
January 30 – February 8, the SFedU Faculty of Philology and Journalism hosted the professional development courses for German language teachers with the support from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The courses titled “SurPlaceKurs. Motivation im Fremdsprachenunterricht” were organized by Silke Blum, DAAD lecturer at SFedU, and were taught by Prof. Martin Löschmann, Ines Raland from German Virtual University, Judith Merkushev, DAAD lecturer in Omsk, and Silke Blum.
The courses consisted of lectures on classroom motivation in foreign language teaching and a number of workshops dealing with student motivation and the application of modern IT-technologies to language teaching.
The courses were attended by 19 teachers representing not only SFedU and its Pedagogical and Technological Institutes, but 7 other universities from the South of Russia as well.
