December 16, SFedU hosted the International Conference «University of Tomorrow as an Engine of Innovation» held within the MERCURY project «Towards Research and Entrepreneurial University Models in the Russian, Ukrainian and Moldavian Higher Education» of the TEMPUS programme.
 
TEMPUS is a EU programme supporting the modernisation of higher education and creating an area of cooperation in countries surrounding the EU. The MERCURY project focused on encouraging the universities of Moldova, Russia and Ukraine to adopt new approaches to intellectual property management, fundraising and technology transfer. SFedU was one of the participants of the project alongside with such universities and institutions as Saarland University (Germany), the University of Alicante (Spain), Jagiellonian University (Poland), Moldova State University, State Agency on Intellectual Property (Moldova), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), Electrotechnical University «LETI» (Saint Petersburg, Russia), etc.
 
The conference held by SFedU was a concluding event of the MERCURY project attended by quite a number of guests from abroad, including Jörg Scherer, Managing Director of European Research and Project Office GmbH (Saarbrücken, Germany). The conference was held at the SFedU Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science and was followed by a farewell dinner and the final meeting of the project coordinators.
